Well, after promising some semblance of continuity, I haven’t written a word in weeks. I have been doing some Dreamweaver work and loving every minute of it. I continue to study the ins and outs of CSS and HTML through videos and books I have found on the net, and am always reading  SOMETHING to try and better myself in the realm of web development.

On a totally different and personal note: In spite of the fact that Isaac Asimov wrote the original Foundation Trilogy in the 1950s, I didn’t discover these amazing books until the late 70s.  I literally devoured them, winding my way through the nearly 400 years of Galactic history covered in Foundation, Foundation & Empire and Second Foundation. I have always enjoyed science fiction and fantasy novels or movies (no matter which), with Asimov, Aurthur Clarke, JRR Tolkien and Kurt Vonnegut being at the top of my author’s list for a long time. As time went on, Isaac A. expanded on his award winning series by writing two prequels and two sequels bringing the total volume count to 7. His death came before any further books in the chronicles of the Foundation could be written, so we are left with what we have.

All that to say, over the past several months I have been re-reading this awesome story, having interrupted my journey through the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter’s saga to dive into the far future galaxy as Isaac saw it. To date I am into the 6th book, Foundation’s Edge and having just a great time experiencing what for others 1000s of years in the future, may well be history.

The saga continues…

Forming Good Habits

Good morning… feels like a message in a bottle so far 😉 . Just trying to keep up with periodic posts so that when thing REALLY start happening, I will already be in the habit of writing. Be cool…

Saturday, June 16

I am getting into the habit of posting on a regular basis, even if it’s only a blurb. Continuing to work on and hopefully it will be ready to go live in the next week or so.Doing CSS exercises, reading the Missing Manual and keeping on with education.

One from my phone

Trying my mobile app to post something out here.

Reading “The Missing Manual” as my current Dreamwwaver education project along with working on “Classroom in a Book“.

Always trying to stay in the game to be better for my clients.

Just checkin’ in… http://www.deeJay’s is almost done and this is what the business card is gonna look like

More later…

Saturday night

Spent a good bit of time today working on MY website, getting my portfolio projects properly linked and creating the new pages to house the links. Designed my initial business cards (really happy with how they turned out), so now another step is completed.

I downloaded some free css templates the other day, and have been looking at the code in these examples to learn more about what makes the coding work. Studying each day to grow.

It’s June already

Just saying hello (again) as I haven’t written a thing in months. I have been doing some free lance web work and have pursued a few projects that are still ‘up in the air” so to speak. Continuing to learn more every day about this field as I really feel the make-over happening. In conversation, I refer to myself as a web designer; in employment searches I am using a web developer resume. I am at work on a personal web site and have decided that deeJay’s Sites is to be the name of the new business.

So the adventure continues…

Good afternoon

Well, I have never had a blog before, so this is gonna be all new to me. I like the idea of having a place to go to just express the things going on… so here goes. Welcome to the days of a former restaurant manager trying to make himself over as a web design/graphics art kinda guy. I am pursuing an education to that end and have produced several web sites and other student projects as part of this endeavor.
